Classic Glass Corvette Club

March 19-20, 2005

Head for the Highlands IV

The group gathers and takes over the BP station.  Everyone is looking at the latest modifications and the TWO new C6's we had join us.

The skies were daunting as we make our way up GA 400.  But have no fear!!

The folks at the Creekside Deli were ready for us!  And as usual, they decorated for the occasion.

It looks like Bob Renneke forgot something, or rather he is bringing along a rider...

Some of the gang either waiting on lunch or enjoying the delicious food from Creekside.

I guess their "future is so bright, they have to wear shades..."

Once again, we have taken over the Main Street Inn in Highlands, NC.

There was time to stop and take our group photo around the club banner in front of the Inn.  What a bunch of happy folks!

Since we were the only ones at the Inn, we could double and triple park.  What a lovely sight!!!  AHH!!! Fiberglass!!!

Here we are beginning the tasting at the local Wine Shop.  Everyone has glass in hand and is ready to taste.

Everyone was having too much fun!!

Barry Tomlinson was even two handed tasting.  Suzanne ponders the vintage...

Gail, we have glasses!!!

Dinner time, Jan and Ferril put on another great spread.

More eager folks waiting for the main course.

When is dessert??

Barry Tomlinson sets the stage for the evenings entertainment.  Definitely not PG13...

The theme was the Classic Glass Retirement Home.

Don Shamel was the time traveler.  He was yelling crazy talk about everyone driving Mustangs in the future...  Wake up Don!

Jack Kreger and Bob Renneke settle into their rockers and get ready for the events to unfold...

Our theme was an impromptu skit in the same fashion as the Drew Carey Show.

Tonie Etter was the retirement home Administrator.  "Now boys, you have not been following the rules!"

Lynn Kreger was the nurse (A.K.A. Nurse Goodbody) and delivered some rather hilarious news to the two retirees.

Thomas Sauntry was the Lawyer that was "representing the best interest of the families" and wanted them to sign some papers...

Bill Gohr was there to sell some "Pre-Need" items, or was he there to check some reflexes??

Terri Martell really got these two to "Get Physical" as the Physical Therapist.

Suzanne (Bob's Wife) and Mark Martell (as the Pool Boy) come to check on Bob.

Now that everyone has had a great evening and a restful night, it is time for a delicious breakfast.

Don Shamel and Bill Gohr had been laughing so hard about the night before, there was not a dry eye..

Bob Renneke getting morning hugs from Randy Cooper and Gail Smith.

Mildred Cooper (L) is enjoying the warm sunshine as Suzanne (R) is loading the last items into the car.

Jack Kreger and Carl Etter perform some detailing duties on some of the cars by wiping off the dew.

Not knowing how this happened, Jack Kreger was surprised that it looks like someone has been using "Snowball" for target practice.

Some great looking fiberglass parked near Bridal Veil Falls.

Since the collapse of part of the falls, we can no longer drive under.  So, we collected as a group for one last photo-op under the falls.

Taking one last look back at the mountains as we head home finds a beautiful sight.... a line of Corvettes!

Join us next year for another great outing.  You will be glad you did.
